Training And Development

Training And Development

We are particularly interested in staff training and development experiences which broaden the understanding and links between African companies and European companies. Examples of experiences include:

  • Enterprise Ventures, (www.enterpriseventures.com)a UK private equity business welcomes a Finance Manager from Nairobi-based Fusion Capital, training him in basic systems and procedures in private equity;
  • Enterprise Ventures welcomes a Loan Manager from Fusion Capital, for a full immersion in their business;
  • Fusion Capital welcomes a series of long term interns from Bath University's renowned Development Economics programme. See Internships and Immersions with Fusion
  • Vespa Capital, (www.vespacapital.com) another private equity business operating in the UK and France, trains key Fusion personnel in financial modelling;
  • Ernst & Young LLP (www.ey.com/) assigns a professional to produce a comprehensive fund-management model for Fusion;
  • The British Venture Capital Association (www.bvca.com) takes two key managers into its training programme;

In return for such experiences, we are interested to give European professionals a taste of doing business in Africa, in a safe but stimulating environment. We believe that such experiences can be of great benefit in growing mature, rounded professionals in the developed world, as well as exposing our staff to individuals trained in best European practice. Examples of skill-sets we could currently benefit are shown here.
