The Board - Luke Kinoti, CEO

Who we are
Luke Kinoti, CEO

Kinoti has 20 years experience in establishing and growing financial institutions, focussed on African micro and SME financing. After graduating in Maths and Statistics at University of Nairobi, Kinoti completed his post-graduate education in the USA, Israel, and back in Nairobi, pursuing a strong interest in economic development issues and business management.

In 1990 he became Programme Director for the Kenya National Council of Churches, responsible for major lending and investment projects. This led in 1994 to the establishment of ECLOF Kenya, a micro-finance institution sponsored by the Swiss-based Ecumenical Church Loan Fund. This involved the establishment of credit policies and procedures, training staff, setting up a branch network, and organising market outreach programmes.

In 1999, he moved to African Medical Research Foundation, where he led a move into business-oriented initiatives, with a focus on training in leadership and business management, training more than 2,000 business leaders over three years. In 2002, he founded Window Development Fund, focussed on development of community initiatives, and in 2005 co-founded Fusion Capital. His role as Chief Executive embraces human capacity building, strategy, and management of the small-company lending programme. Kinoti has led the international expansion of the business. He sits on Fusion African Access' Investment Committee and plays an active role in assessing and negotiating investment opportunities.
